Wishing you a fabulous 2008 from NYC! Enjoy these images of Revlon Norell advertisements circa late '60s-'70s. The first designer perfume born in America had a starring role in these ads with a New York backdrop--here again, on-location in the city that never sleeps is the American classic perfume that made the smell of prosperity so wearably chic...and affordable. We still love the now-drugstore favorite, don't we? OK, I'll admit this is one I sniff at but don't wear; nevertheless, it's one that speaks volumes as an integral part of HERstory. I just got the 1/4 fl. oz. parfum (Made in France, it says) and it's every bit as potent as a parfum should be. See Jan Moran's notes at this link and read the February 25, 2001 NYTimes article, Inside Whiff; Mink Dew by Mary Tannen. Here's to new beginnings!
Here's the happy couple walking the dog in Central Park...
...and is this a "by the beach house on the Island" type of vibe?
